So what do three 8th graders share as their highlights of these past 3 weeks?

For the past two weeks, several students have taken charge of our morning announcements - opening every school day with our pledge of allegiance, birthdays and important updates for everyone in the school.  This morning I caught up with this trio and asked them one question - "What has been your highlight from the first weeks of school?"  Loved hearing what they had to share and hope you do too!

What's my highlight?  Every Friday I have the pleasure to co-teach our Skills4Life classes with all of our middle school teachers as well as counselor Rachel Petraska, our SAP (student assistance professional) Amy Sayre, and behavior interventionist Sue Schaefer.   Today students shared a "flag" that they had created this past week representing hopes, dreams and inspiration for the upcoming school year.  Here are just a few examples - it was so powerful to see and hear all this great group of young people hope to accomplish and hear their deep thinking.  Everyone is working to post a picture and explanation of their flag in their googleclassroom - if you have an SCS 6th, 7th or 8th grader bet they'd be proud to show you their work.
