Puppets in education

On Wednesday and Thursday this week, all K-5 students participated in an interactive performance by Puppets in Education (PiE), an educational puppet troupe.  The 3 1/2 foot tall puppets empower kids to talk about really important and sometimes difficult issues.  Our Kindergarteners watched Friend 2 Friend, which explained autism, first and second graders learned about child abuse prevention, and students in grades 3-5 learned about learning differences and bully prevention.
THANKS TO SHEARER CHEVROLET AND DAN BOKAN FOR FUNDING THIS IMPORTANT PROGRAM!  WE LEARNED SO MUCH!  YOU'RE THE BEST!

Bullying is everyone's problem!
We learned a lot!
Violence is no way to solve a problem.
When someone bullies you, tell a trusted adult.
Telling IS NOT tattling or ratting.  It IS reporting.
Girls get bullied just like boys.
Be an up stander, include others in your activities.
Bullying behavior is just that, behavior, and it can change.
