Congratulations Isaac Krementsov - SCS 2016 GeoBee Champion

SCS Geo Bee Championships - Recap

Thank you, AGAIN, to SCS students from grades 4 - 8 for participating in the 2016 National Geographic Bee at Shelburne Community School!

We have crowned a school champion!

Here is a quick recap with a few photos included:

Final rounds:
The format was slightly different for the SCS Geo Bee Championships.
Questions come in rounds, with different elements like using maps and writing answers to a single group question.

Throughout the rounds, students were eliminated after they missed two questions.

Students worked through difficult questions spanning U.S. and world geography. Eventually, the group of finalists was narrowed:

Lewis Kerest
Isaac Krementsov
Jamie Ray
Lars Jensen
Ethan Harvey
Karolina Sienko

Of these semifinalists, only two qualified for the championship round.

Karolina Sienko finished in third place overall.

In a best-of-three series, using written responses, the SCS Geo Bee champion for 2016 was crowned:

Congratulations to Isaac, as well as all finalists and participants in the 2016 SCS Geo Bee Competition.
