As you know, all PK-8 schools in CSSU will have an early release day on Tuesdays throughout the year.
Beginning on Tuesday, September 6th, students will be released to the buses at 2:00 in order to provide an extra hour of professional development for all SCS employees each week. All CSSU K-8 schools have chosen to blend this time with our weekly faculty meeting time, providing a consistent weekly two hour opportunity for professional development. We are very excited to have time set aside within the work day to complete the many trainings and classes that are needed to keep current in our jobs.
Like all completely new opportunities, how this is organized and structured is going to be a work in progress but we are incredibly excited about that regular collaboration it is going to bring for our learning, and that of our students. We realize that many families may need child care during this time, so we have scheduled a number of opportunities available to your child(ren). We will update our web page regularly to include additional opportunities as they become available.
Imagine After School (IAS) - IAS will be operating as usual on Tuesdays, just starting an hour earlier. They will have additional programming to keep students engaged. Details will be finalized over the next weeks. We will keep you informed as these details unfold.
