ELL Summer Camp Celebration

English Language Learners (ELL) Summer Camp Celebration
Hannah and Laura with their students

Over the last two weeks, one of our ELL teachers, Hannah Pinckney, and Laura Davenport, a fifth grade classroom teacher, teamed up to create an incredible learning experience for some of our ELL students.  They learned about the wonders of Lake Champlain.
Another great shot
Students rode boats on the lake, visited the Echo Museum, learned how to fly fish (thanks to Hannah's mother) on the LaPlatte River, explored Shelburne Bay, visited numerous local businesses, and generally, built positive, fun relationships with peers.

On the last day, campers showed their power point presentations to their families and were treated to homemade cake (thanks to Laura) and other sweet treats.

Thanks to our student volunteers, Joyce and Jessica, who helped serve the goodies, and for their help throughout the week.

And finally, thanks to our students parents and guardians for supporting this important learning experience!  Hope to see you all again next year!
