Every four years SCS selects one teacher as a UVM Teacher of the Year to join with teachers from all other schools in VT to receive this distinguished honor. This past Tuesday Alpha teacher Meg O'Donnell was honored as our UVM Teacher of the Year, joining 72 other outstanding educators in a wonderful ceremony in the Davis Center. The Alpha Team also treated Meg to special ceremony complete with lots of great cake and her own portfolio looking back at her more than two decades of work with SCS students. Here was Meg's response to the honor:
My personal reflection was just how enormously proud and honored I am to be nominated. I feel blessed to teach in a school and community that support education. I am blessed to teach with colleagues who inspire me and encourage taking risks that make sense for kids and learning. I love teaching middle school kids - they teach me every day about resilience and perseverance and the importance of humor. I am blessed to have found a career I love and get excited about, and I am super fortunate to have a loving supportive family that allow me to devote time and energy to my career.
