Dear Parents of Prospective Performers,
I am delighted to be directing the spring musical this year at Shelburne Community School. I have an MFA in Directing from Middlesex University in London. I have been directing for the past 8 years at Essex High School and have directed professionally with Vermont Stage Company. I also teach improvisation at UVM and Vermont Commons School, Direct The Flynn Adult Acting Ensemble and I am a Teaching Artist working with classroom teachers on Arts Integration in a variety of schools.
This year we will be producing Stephen Sondheim’s popular journey through the fairytale world, Into the Woods. This show has won multiple Tony awards and was recently made into a movie with Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp. There are a number of exciting leading and supporting roles as well as great opportunities for those who wish to be in the chorus. Auditions will be held after Christmas break this year and the show will take place on March 23rd and 24th at The Shelburne Town Hall. Rehearsals will be held 3 days a week from 3-5 in various school locations. Exact rehearsal days TBD.
As I am new to Shelburne I would love to meet parents and students who are interested in being involved. This will be an opportunity for me to answer questions that you have about the show, discuss the commitment involved, go over the rehearsal schedule and make you aware of ways in which you can support the production.
We will be meeting on Wed Nov 9 from 6-7 in the SCS Library.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at email@example.com
I look forward to meeting you all soon!
