E Wing demolition well underway

Even while we just begin to enjoy our new D Wing, work is already well underway tearing out the old E Wing to make way for the mirror image renovation that is due to be completed in time for school opening in August 2017.    Here are a few shots of what is going on behind that new chain length fence.
This was Wendy Hallock's classroom just last month
Here sitting in Robin Halnon's old classroom is the remnant of the ceiling ventilation system
The ceiling cavity is almost clear - wire, conduit, pipes - all to be replaced since it's 50 years old
This is where the old Alpha project room and end of hallway bathrooms used to be - soon to be classroom space
One by one the old single pane windows and frames are being removed
This week the major project will be to remove the huge ventilation system that sits in an 8 foot pit at one end of the wing.  By the time that is done things should be pretty well gutted down to the brick walls and the roof deck and it will be time to begin putting the new wing back together.   Can't wait until it looks like this!
