Kick Butts Week - SCS students join with national tobacco awareness campaign

Kick Butts Day is a national day of activism that empowers youth to stand out, speak up and seize control against Big Tobacco.  The SCS LEAD group has decided to plan various activities throughout a week to educate students in grades 4-8 about the dangers of tobacco and, while doing so, have some fun along the way.  A spirit week is planned for the middle school.  The announcements each morning will detail why a specific "costume" was chosen for that day. There are also posters around the middle school wings.

LEAD students will play a tobacco facts game in the lunch room with raffle tickets given for correct answers.  Ticket winners will be entered for a raffle prize.

In the 4th and 5th grades, LEAD students will be doing short presentations in some classrooms and have organized a poster contest like last year.  Two winners will be selected for each grade.  4th and 5th grade teachers should have received an email from Joyce Ke with contest specifics.

THANK YOU for supporting this important activity!
