What's happening at Pierson Library?

SCS Families,

We're pleased to announce some exciting upcoming student opportunities at Pierson Library.

On Wednesday, December 11th, the library will be hosting David Macaulay for a talk and art show from 7:00 - 8:00pm.

Macaulay has won the Caldecott Medal and the MacArthur “Genius” Award for his illustrations of how complex systems—buildings, machines, the human body—work.   He’ll be talking at 7:00pm, and original artwork from his 40 year career will be on display in the library’s gallery.

On January 8th, Rick Bessette is hosting an evening poetry program as a “capstone” to his four years of service as our Poet Laureate.  He plans to retire at Town Meeting in March.

Rick invites his students to read a favorite poem they’ve written as part of the program.  If you would like to participate please contact Rick directly, or Kevin Unrath at Pierson Library, for details and to sign up.
